IX Lives was
originally formed in 2001 out of the remnants of several
Madison, Wisconsin based bands. The band has always taken
pride in avoiding the "same old 40 songs" that
other area band play. The focus has been on popular and
familiar songs, in many cases which are more technically
difficult musically and vocally. The result is that you
will hear a unique blend of music that you will normally
not hear when you see other bands.
IX Lives plays
a good crossover of high energy rock music that appeals
to most all ages. The band has identified many of the great
tunes from the 70s and 80s that have an enduring quality
and were played by bands that remain popular to this day
such as Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd and others. At the same
time, the band takes great care to select songs that were
popular from those bands, but avoids the songs that are
more commonly done by other bands.
The end result
is an energetic, original show, with unexpected twists and
turns on every corner.
IX Lives is not
your usual "shoe staring" type band. A IX Lives
show is full of energy with something to constantly draw
your eye. The band uses first rate sound and lighting systems
which is necessary in order to recreate the rock and roll
concert ambiance.
Over the years
IX Lives has played at such popular venues as Summerfest
in Milwaukee (3 years), Rockfest in Cadot, Wisconsin, and
Navy Pier in Chicago, Illinois. They have warmed up crowds
for a variety of big name acts such as Godsmack, Boston,
Poison, Eddy Money, Peter Frampton, the Bangles and 3 Days
Grace.
IX Lives plans
to continue rocking for as long as people continue coming
to see them perform. We love to hang out and party with
people who care enough to come and see us. So if you come
to see us, plan on being on your feet and having a few cocktails.
